  14. 1. INSTALLATION DIRECTORY
  15. The setup program installs both NFL Forecaster
  16. 5.0 for Windows 95 and NFL Calendar 1.0 for
  17. Windows 95 in the same directory; the two
  18. programs share two files: schedule.nfl and
  19. names.nfl.  If you move either program to
  20. another directory after installation (there is
  21. no reason to do this), you must be sure that
  22. there are copies of names.nfl and schedule.nfl
  23. in both directories.

  25. When asked for the directory to install the
  26. programs to, you should use the default
  27. directory (Program Files\Cotton\NFL) that is
  28. offered to you, unless you have a VERY good
  29. reason for not using it.

  31. Do not install NFL Forecaster for Windows 95 in
  32. the same directory as NFL Forecaster for
  33. Windows or NFL Forecaster for DOS.  Some of the
  34. files installed by NFL Forecaster's setup
  35. program have the same names as files used by
  36. Forecaster for DOS and Forecaster for Windows.
  37. The new versions will replace the older
  38. versions -- something you probably don't want
  39. to happen.

  42. 2. INSTALLATION FILES
  43. The setup program places files only in the NFL
  44. Forecaster directory, except for a single file,
  45. UNINST.EXE, which may be placed in the Windows
  46. directory.  UNINST.EXE is used to uninstall NFL
  47. Forecaster and NFL Calendar and programs by
  48. other companies; therefore, it should not be
  49. removed from your disk. The setup program
  50. does not make any changes to the config.sys
  51. or autoexec.bat files.

  53. A minimum of four files must always be in the
  54. Forecaster directory in order to run
  55. NFL Forecaster:
  56.    NFL Forecaster.exe: Executable program file.
  57.    main-dta.nfl: Team rankings.
  58.    schedule.nfl: NFL schedule.
  59.    names.nfl: Team names.

  61. Several other files are placed in the
  62. Forecaster directory:
  63.    NFL Forecaster.hlp: On-line help file.
  64.    NFL Forecaster.cnt: On-line help table of contents.
  65.    NFL Calendar.exe: Executable program file.
  66.    NFL Calendar.hlp: On-line help file.
  67.    NFL Calendar.cnt: On-line table of contents.
  68.    week-xx.yy: One or more weekly archive files.
  69.    DEISLx.ISU: Log file used for uninstalling.

  76. 3. UNINSTALLING
  77. The uninstall program removes NFL Forecaster
  78. and NFL Calendar.  It removes all files and
  79. Registry entries that were installed by the
  80. installation program (except for the
  81. uninstallation program itself; see above). It
  82. does not (cannot) remove files that were placed
  83. in the Forecaster directory after installation.

  85. The on-line help topic "Installing/Uninstalling
  86. NFL Forecaster for Windows" contains step-by-
  87. step instructions for removing NFL Forecaster
  88. and NFL Calendar from your computer system.

  90. If NFL Forecaster and/or NFL Calendar are
  91. already installed on your computer and you want
  92. to be sure that this version will uninstall
  93. EVERYTHING, you should uninstall the other
  94. versions of Forecaster and NFL Calendar before
  95. installing this version (press the Cancel
  96. button, uninstall the other versions and run
  97. this install program again). You will, however,
  98. lose your current preferences and windows
  99. layout settings.

  102. 4. REGISTRATION
  103. NFL Forecaster and NFL Calendar are copyrighted
  104. shareware products; they are not freeware or
  105. public domain software. You can try them before
  106. you buy them and you are encouraged to give
  107. copies to others.  If you use them after 30
  108. days, you must register them.  For a complete
  109. list of registration benefits and ordering
  110. methods, read README.TXT at the end of
  111. installation or see the topic "Why Register NFL
  112. Forecaster" in the on-line help after
  113. installation.

  116. 5. LIMITATIONS
  117. The unregistered versions of NFL Forecaster for
  118. Windows 95 and NFL Calendar for Windows 95 are
  119. identical to the registered versions EXCEPT
  120. that the functions for preparing for a new NFL
  121. season (creating a new schedule, for example)
  122. will not save data to disk. It's only fair that
  123. you cannot use the unregistered versions of the
  124. programs for more than one NFL season without
  125. registering them.  You can, however, use them
  126. to see how they work.

  129. 6. PREFERENCES AND WINDOWS LAYOUT
  130. If NFL Forecaster and/or NFL Calendar are
  131. already installed on your computer, your
  132. preferences and windows layout will be
  133. preserved when you install this version;
  134. they will not be "wiped out."
